What does Personal Care Assistant Services entail?

Personal Care Assistants' Insurance Coverage

Private insurance and Medicare do not cover Personal Care Assistant services. They may, however, be covered by Medicaid. If a client is eligible for Medicaid reimbursement, we can assist you with the documentation needed to get your Personal Care Assistant services covered by Medicaid.

Homemaker Services

Homemakers can make a significant impact in a senior's or disabled person's life. They can safely live at home because they come to a client's home to assist with household activities. Homemakers assist clients with all home activities that they are unable to complete. For example, some seniors may discover that duties that were formerly simple, such as laundry, cleaning, cooking, and grocery shopping, have become difficult. Personal care assistant services might be replaced with homemakers. If a senior or disabled client does not require assistance with personal care, a homemaker may be a viable option for keeping them at home. In some circumstances, a homemaker's assistance might be used to enhance PCA services.

HOMEMAKER SERVICES INCLUDE:

Minnesota Medical Assistance may cover homemakers under federally approved waiver programs. We can assist you in determining whether or not you have insurance coverage for a homemaker.
